We provide a minimum of 8 hours of classes with each new sewing machine or serger purchase.

Registration Information:
Please register early for classes and clubs as we require time to prepare kits and class handouts. Classes and clubs with insufficient registration will be cancelled with 72 hours notice given to those who are registered in the class.
Class size is limited and registration is accepted in the order that payment is received.
The classes and workshops that are listed here are for adult participants. Visitors, including infants and children are not permitted in classes or workshops.
Supply costs are extra. Supply lists are provided at the time of registration and all supplies must be purchased from SEW for IT!
Please book a machine at the time of registration if you do not wish to bring your own sewing machine. Students must provide their own Schmetz needles, Husqvarna Viking bobbins and good quality thread, such as our Mettler and Gutermann threads.

Classes for April and May
INTRODUCTORY LEVEL
Beginner Sewing $60
2 hours per week for 4 weeks
starts Thursday, April 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Machine Basics $60
COST: $60 (or no charge if your machine was purchased from SEW for IT!) plus a fabric kit cost of $20 plus tax. Class is 2.5 hours per week for 3 weeks.
This is an orientation class for those who have purchased a new sewing machine from SEW for IT! Topics including threading, winding bobbins, needles and threads, hem and seam finishes and zipper application. Cleaning and maintenance will also be discussed. Students will complete a tote bag in class.

SERGERS
Sewing
with Sergers
Learn to use your serger to its full potential in this 4 week class, 2 hours per week. The first class is an overview of the serger and a guide to troubleshooting problems. The following weeks feature projects using 3 thread, 4 thread and rolled edge applications.
COST: $60 (or no charge if your serger was purchased from SEW for IT!), plus $25 fee for some of the supplies. Class is 2 hours per week for 4 weeks.

QUILTING
Learn to Quilt
Complete a quilting project from start to finish. Beginner quilting class starts with colour theory and fabric selection and progresses step-by-step to the completion of the quilting and binding of a baby quilt or lap quilt.
COST: $70 plus supplies. Class is 2 hours per week for 7 weeks

For those with some sewing or quilting experience. Work on the project of your choice with assistance from the instructor as required.

Ed's 4D Embroidery Software Class
This is an overview of the 4D Embroidery program (and earlier programs).
Cost is $60 plus purchase of workbook. This workbook will be used for demonstration, and reference at home. Class is 2 hours per week for 4 weeks.
Husqvarna Club
This is a monthly information session to teach you about the features and accessories available for your Husqvarna Viking sewing machine. We have changed the format this fall to demonstration followed by hands-on trial using our classroom machines. We hope to include a Show and Tell session. Sewing machines are not required.
Fee for Husqvarna Club is $15 per session (but there is no charge for the Husqvarna Club if your machine was purchased at SEW for IT!) plus the kit fee.
Embroidery Club
This is a monthly session to help you learn to manage the hoop embroidery function of you embroidery machine. Each session will start with a demo of production of a design using 4D software. This design will then be given to each participant and a technique using this design will be.demonstrated. A kit and instruction sheets will provided to each participant. Please bring your USB stick with you to load the design.
Fee for Embroidery Club is $15 per session (but there is no charge for the Embroidery Club if your machine was purchased at SEW for IT!) plus the kit fee.
